full time position in Vancouver, WA for a

SENIOR ECONOMIST & EXPERT WITNESS

The Economics Group of ENTRIX is a natural resource and economics division, which specializes in issues related to water, agriculture, fisheries, Native Americans, environmental quality, energy, market analysis, and forestry.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Resource or Agricultural Economics
2. Five years of relevant professional experience
3. People management expertise
4. Expert witness experience
5. Proven track record of business development
6. Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities - working knowledge of economic theory, mathematics, statistics, and/or quantitative methods
7. Demonstrated ability to work with word processing and spreadsheet software
8. Demonstrated experience in project management
9. Exceptional interpersonal skills
10. Solid time management and follow-through skills, with the ability to simultaneously work on and manage multiple tasks/projects with tight deadlines
11. Excellent oral and written communication skills
12. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Word & Excel
13. Must be authorized to work in U.S. without company sponsorship

Desired Qualifications:
1. Coursework in business, finance, econometrics, programming, planning, environmental science, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
2. Positive and energetic attitude
3. Willingness and ability to learn new subjects
4. Ability to work well independently and with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, team oriented work environment
5. Self motivated; strong initiative
6. Strong business/client orientation

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Manage, direct, and participate in research projects involving other ENTRIX employees and employees in other companies in a team environment
2. Develop and actively market to acquire additional work for the company, and maintain client relationships on existing projects
3. Assist employees in research methods and analytical techniques, including information and data sources

SENIOR ECONOMIST & PROJECT MANAGER



NEA, a division of ENTRIX, Inc. is a natural resource and economics division which specializes in issues related to water, agriculture, fisheries, Native Americans, environmental quality, energy, market analysis, and forestry.


The NEA office in Vancouver, Washington is seeking a Senior Economist and Project Manager to work on and manage a variety of projects in one or more of these subject areas. Key responsibilities include:


•Manage, direct, and participate in research projects involving other NEA employees and employees in other companies in a team environment.

•Develop and actively market to acquire additional work for the company, and maintain client relationships on existing projects.

•Assist employees in research methods and analytical techniques, including information and data sources.

•Participate in and coordinate report preparation.

•Work within prescribed time and budgetary parameters.

•Assist in fostering a strong team environment and developing quality products.


The candidate should have broad interests and be able to shift easily among studies, as NEA often works concurrently on many different types of projects. At minimum, the successful candidate will have a Ph.D. degree, or an M.S. with at least three years of experience, in Agricultural or Resource Economics (preferred) from a university with high academic standards. In addition, the successful candidate must have:


•Excellent interpersonal skills. The candidate will work closely with clients and NEA employees and will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining client relationships and interacting with other ENTRIX employees on different projects.

•Excellent writing skills.

•Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities. Working knowledge of economic theory, mathematics, statistics, and/or quantitative methods is required. Coursework in business, finance, econometrics, programming, planning, environmental science, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is desirable.

•Demonstrated ability to work with word processing and spreadsheet software. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products is required.

•Demonstrated experience in project management, and an ability to work with other staff in a supportive team environment.

•Willingness and ability to learn new subjects.

•Excellent time management skills.
