Jeri A. Sawyer, M.S., Economist
Ms. Sawyer has 11 years of experience in agricultural and
energy related economic analysis. Her experience in agricultural analysis
includes farm management evaluation, farm budget preparation, and farm financial
analysis. Throughout her professional career, Ms. Sawyer has attained extensive
experience in energy-related analysis, including regional economic and demographic
forecasting, utility level electric load forecasting, and electric rate impact
analysis. She is highly proficient in power product cost analysis, and pricing
and rate formulation. Ms. Sawyer has proven experience in technical and economic
analysis for FERC hydroelectric project relicensing, including development
of Section 4(e) conditions and Section 10(e) annual charges. In addition,
she has important experience with recreation demand analysis, agricultural
impact analysis, and population forecasting.
Prior to joining NEA in 1997, Ms. Sawyer was employed with the Farmers Home Administration of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Bonneville Power Administration of the U.S. Department of Energy. She has an M.S. in economics with an emphasis in energy from Portland State University.
Recent work with NEA has included economic analysis and
coordination of subcontractors for the Cushman Hydroelectric Project FERC
relicensing project and the Pelton-Round Butte relicensing study. She is also
currently involved in FERC relicensing studies for the St. Lawrence/FDR Project
in New York and the Priest Rapids/Wanapum project in Washington. She recently
served as lead economist for the Wisconsin River Headwaters Project, and provided
review of training materials and participated in a training session on Economic
Analysis for the Fish and Wildlife Service. In addition to FERC relicensing
work, Ms. Sawyer is developing information on population projections and water
use for studies related to Indian water rights currently underway at NEA.
